is a folk festival of love and dedication to nature, celebrated with pomp in Chhattisgarh Bhawan, ‘Hareli’

Raipur, 28 July 2022'Hareli' is the folk festival of love and dedication towards nature. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken an initiative to carry forward the Teej-festival, tradition and culture of the state. Hareli festival was organized in Chhattisgarh Bhawan to enable people to connect with the state’s folk culture in the capital of the country. Along with cultural programs in New Delhi’s Lutyens’ Zone on Hareli, the fragrance of Chhattisgarhi cuisine also spread. On this occasion, the traditional dishes of Chhattisgarh were also thoroughly enjoyed by the people of Delhi.————  'Hareli' is the folk festival of love and dedication towards nature.             Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel says that the purpose of the event is to connect people with their tradition and culture, so that people can feel proud of the rich art-culture, Teej-festivals and traditions of Chhattisgarh.

The folk festival of Chhattisgarh, Shreli, shows the importance of agricultural tradition and environment. It is considered to be the first festival of the region. After the sowing of paddy, the farmers worship all the agricultural and iron tools on the day of Hareli and pray for good harvest and health.
The special dish- o-f t-hi-s —–festival is ‘cheela’, chausela, kheer etc. made of rice, which is distributed as prasad. On the day of Hareli, there is a tradition of men making a Gedi (               (made of bamboo) and climbing it.During the Hareli festival in Chhattisgarh Bhawan, the traditional game of Gadi climbing attracted people and everyone participated enthusiastically.—————                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   During the Hareli festival in Chhattisgarh Bhawan, the traditional game of Gadi climbing attracted people and everyone participated enthusiastically. While concentration and balance are important for the climber, on the other hand this sport gives us the message to be physically and mentally healthy.
The people of Chhattisgarh settled in Delhi also appreciated this initiative of the Chief Minister. He said that such events keep him close to his culture even when he is away from the state. In this event, Chhattisgarh’s residential commissioner Mr. Ajit Vasant along with other dignitaries and residents of Chhattisgarh living in Delhi were involved in large numbers.
