Chief Minister reviewed preparations in Collectors’ Conference

‘Godan Nyaya Yojana’ to be started ceremonially in Gothans on Hareli

Gauthans will be built in all gram panchayats and villages in a phased manner.

Raipur, 17 July 2020. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that the district collectors are fully responsible for the operation and monitoring of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. This plan is discussed all over the country, economists and social organizations from all over the country are eyeing this plan. With this scheme, cow dung is going to become a precious commodity. He said that the skill and orderly manner in which procurement of paddy, purchase of minor forest produce and tendu leaf collection are being done in the support price already operated in the state. In the coming time, a similar arrangement will be made to buy cow dung and marketing of prepared vermi compost. Mr. Baghel was addressing a collectors conference organized through video conferencing at his residence office here today.
The Chief Minister said that Gauthan is a part of the tradition of Chhattisgarh, which is being linked with professionalism by giving a modern look. So that employment opportunities can be created for villagers through Gothans and they can get income. He said that the Gothan and Godhan Nyaya Yojana is basically the scheme of the villagers. All the resources and systems are being made available by the state government for starting this scheme. In the coming time, the villagers themselves will conduct these schemes.
Mr. Baghel said that on July 20, Hareli Parv will start a state-wide ambitious government justice scheme. Programs will be held on different dates from July 20 in the completed Gothanas in the state. The program will include state government ministers, parliamentary secretaries, panchayati raj institutions and public representatives of urban bodies. The Chief Minister asked the district collectors to form Gauthan committees and activate them with the approval of the minister in-charge of the district. Self-help groups working in Gothanas should be identified. Mr. Baghel said that the work of purchasing cow dung and preparing vermicompost should be entrusted to those people, who do not hesitate to lift cow dung by hand.
The Chief Minister said that in the first phase, procurement of cow dung will be started in 2408 rural areas and 377 Gouthans in urban areas. He said that in the coming time there will be a demand to introduce Godhan Nyaya Yojana in all villages. Therefore, in all 11 thousand 630 gram panchayats and then in 20 thousand villages, Gouthan will have to be prepared in a phased manner. For this also, the collector should start the work of marking the land. He also directed to pay special attention to the training of self-help groups. He said that arrangements should be made to train self-help groups to prepare vermi compost through Agriculture Department, Veterinary, Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
At the conference, the Chief Minister also reviewed the preparation of crop fall, progress of plantation drive, skill up gradation of workers and their employment status and topics related to the workers who were staying in the Quarantine Center. He said that every Gothan Samiti’s account in the cooperative bank should be opened compulsorily. A card should be made for everyone who sells cow dung. One copy of which should be kept with the seller and the other with the Gothan committee. The card should be signed by the cow dung collector. She said that the cow dung of cattle stalling in Gothanas would have the right of shepherd. It will also be purchased at the rate of two rupees per kg.
Chhattisgarh’s rural economy will be strengthened through these schemes. Mr. Baghel said that this year the Father of the Nation is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Bapu had dreamed of village Swaraj. Gouthans are planned to be developed as livelihood centers and rural industrial parks. With which the dream of village Swaraj will be realized. The Chief Minister said that small items of daily use come from outside, due to the Corona crisis, the supply of goods from abroad will be less in the coming times. This can be accomplished by preparing goods locally. The District Collector should consult with the business organizations and various companies of their districts and get information about such items. These can be produced by providing training and raw materials to self-help groups in Gothans.
Mr. Baghel said that in the coming time, a large quantity of vermi compost will be produced in the Gauthans of Chhattisgarh, although its biggest customers will be the farmers of the village. Along with this, forest, agriculture, horticulture, urban development department and other departments which require vermicompost should be purchased on priority basis through vermicompost co-operative prepared in Gauthan.
The Chief Minister said that research work should be carried out at Dau Vasudev Chandrakar Kamadhenu University in Durg with studies and teaching on organic manure, preparation of medicines from cow urine and organic pastesite. Mr. Baghel also instructed the officials to ensure that the Patwari go to the fields to harvest the crops. Submit the photo with your presence in the Patwari field to the concerned revenue inspector and the tehsildar. He reviewed the progress of the state government’s plan to give ownership to the people occupying leases of Nazul and Abadi lands. Mr. Baghel has started English medium schools in the state Baskets of kg, 10 kg and 20 kg measurements should be kept, this will also provide employment to the buses. Weighing machines can also be arranged for weighing. He informed that funds are being given by the Gau-Seva Commission, DMF, Campa, Panchayat and Rural Development Department for necessary arrangements in Gowthan committees.
