Raipur: Garh Dhanora to be developed as biological heritage sites

Raipur, 20 October 2020. The state government is continuously exploring the possibility of tourism development in the state. The Gaddhanora archaeological site is located at some distance from Keshkal in Kondagaon district of the state. Remnants of ancient times are found in it.
    After inspection of the Garhdhanora region, various types of forest medicines have been found in abundance there. In these Vanaushadhis, especially Malkangani and various types of tubers have been found. A biodiversity-rich archaeological site is planned to be developed as a Biodiversity Heritage Site under the provision of Section 37 of the Biodiversity Act 2002. For this, Zonal Officer Keshkal has been directed by the Forest Officer of the area.  
    Archaeological stone wall is also present in the Gadhanora site. Efforts will be made by the Forest Department to promote it as natural tourism by preserving it. With the development of this ancient site as a tourist area, people will be more attracted towards the beauty of Bastar.
