This craft market will run till 22 February. Traditional textiles and various crafts of various states of the country are available at discounted rates along with discounts for display-cum-sale in Gandhi Crafts Bazaar. Everyday items and textiles along with decorative items are getting better response in Gandhi Crafts market. People, especially women, arrive here in large numbers daily and are buying traditional clothes and clothes of their choice.
Dhokra Handicrafts, Iron Crafts, Wood Crafts, Bamboo Crafts, Tattoo Crafts, Shisel Crafts, Terracotta in the State of Chhattisgarh, including embroidered, Banarasi, Zari, Lucknowi Chicken Work, Chanderi Sarees and other traditional garments made by the craftsmen at Gandhi Crafts Bazaar Crafts, murals, stone crafts, kauri crafts, Tumba crafts and handloom textiles are attracting people in Kosa silk, tussar silk, cotton dress material, saris, tupattas, bed sheets, bedsheets and khadi textiles and materials manufactured by the village industry. For the capitalists, this craft market organized in the wedding season has become a gift for the people.
It is noteworthy that Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar launched this ten-day Gandhi Shilp Bazaar on February 12. Officials of the Handicrafts Development Board said that in the crafts market, goods worth lakhs of rupees have been sold within three days. In this craft market people are fiercely buying traditional textile and decorative materials available at affordable rates. It is worth mentioning that in this Gandhi Crafts Market, exhibits of materials made by 101 craft artists of various genres of the states of Chhattisgarh as well as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Pondicherry, Punjab – Stalls have been set up for sale. This craft market is open for shopping from 11 am to 9 pm.
