Raipur, 15 September 2020. Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar held a telephonic discussion with the State Governor Ms. Anusaiya Uike today. He urged the Governor, Ms. Uike, to intervene in the case of death of an Adivasi due to unprovoked firing by Madhya Pradesh Police on two tribal brothers of Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh. During the discussion, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar said that two separate letters have been written to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and the Home Minister regarding this matter. Despite this, the Madhya Pradesh government has not taken any legal action.
The Governor of Chhattisgarh, Ms. Anusaiya Uike was on a stay in Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh) today. On the telephone, he was told by the Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar that Jamsin Dhurve, resident of Balasamund village and his cousin Nemsingh Dhurve went fishing on 06 September 2020 under Bodla development block of Kabirdham district. On their way back, they were stopped by soldiers of Madhya Pradesh Police. When both the tribal brothers started fleeing due to fear, they entered the border of Chhattisgarh and shot and killed Mr. Jamsingh Dhurve and attempted to kill Nemasingh Dhurve. Shri Jamsingh Dhurve died within the border of Chhattisgarh state. His dead body was removed from the incident site by Madhya Pradesh Police and taken to Madhya Pradesh. There was also an attempt to erase the blood stains on the scene. The dead body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased after conducting a post-mortem in Gadhi in district Balaghat on 07 September 2020.
Governor Ms. Uike has also been informed of the factual report of the Collector, Kabirdham. It has been said in the said report that Madhya Pradesh government is trying to describe the incident as a police-Naxalite encounter, while both these people had no connection with any type of Naxalite activities. Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar urged the State Governor, Ms. Anusaiya Uike to intervene in the matter. Governor Ms. Anusaiya Uike has taken the matter of death due to firing on innocent tribals. He has assured the Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar that he will discuss the matter with the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. A letter has also been sent to Governor Ms. Uike requesting Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar to intervene in the matter. A copy of the factual report of Collector Kabirdham has also been attached to the letter.
