Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar today participated in the district level Kisan Mela organized at village Jhalmala of Bodla development block, remote Vananchal Baiga dominated area situated at the end of Kabirdham district. During this, he gifted development works worth Rs 1 crore 43 lakh 55 thousand for the construction of 28 water catchments under the Bodla water catchment project. He announced construction work of 4 check dams, 2 stop dams, 16 wells and 6 dubri. During this, Minister Mr. Akbar gave appointment letters on contractual posts to 8 secretaries in 8 water intake committees under the Bodla water project. The program was presided over by District Panchayat President Bodla Mrs. Amita Prabhati Markam.

          Addressing the program, Forest Minister Mr. Akbar said that the main objective of organizing the district level agriculture fair is to give information about the development of rural life including advanced methods in the field of agriculture, so that farmers can earn maximum profit. All farmers should take advantage of this. Forest Minister Mr. Akbar has given 1.5 HP electric pumps to 44 beneficiaries, 3 HP diesel pumps to 11 beneficiaries, under the water catchment project scheme. Under livelihood, 10 self-help groups were given cyclical amount of Rs 2 lakh 80 thousand for various works and 2 HP irrigation pumps were provided to 10 beneficiaries under District Mineral Trust. Under the Extension Reforma Self Scheme, 10 farmers who did excellent work in the field of agriculture in the district were honored with certificates and incentives. Organic insecticide Brahmatra made from 1000 liters of cow urine was distributed free of cost to 1000 farmers.

     Forest Minister Mr. Akbar said that the schemes run in the interest of the farmers have been displayed in the district level Kisan Mela through the exhibition of various departments. Along with this, information is being given about it, in which all the farmers should take advantage of it. He said that all the schemes of the government are to strengthen the rural economy. The scheme is being operated for the residents of the village. When the residents of the village are financially empowered, then the rural economy will also be strong.
  Forest Minister Mr. Akbar said that with the formation of the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, issues related to farmers have been paramount, first of all the farm loans were waived. Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumihin Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana has been formulated for the economic development of the landless laborers of the state. The Godhan Nyaya Yojana has been formulated to increase the income of cow owners, farmers and citizens. The state government is procuring 65 types of forest produce by increasing 7 types of forest produce for the development of lakhs of families of the state associated with forest produce collection. Tendupatta per standard bag was increased from Rs.2500 to Rs.4000. Chhattisgarh is procuring maximum quantity of minor forest produce in the country.
