Raipur, 1 August 2021 . The work being done in the direction of conservation, promotion and development of medicinal plants in Chhattisgarh has been appreciated by the international organization United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, United Nations Convention on Prevention of Desertification (UNCCD). Under this, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar and Provincial Secretary of Traditional Vaidya Sangh of Chhattisgarh State Shri Nirmal Awasthi have been honored by the said organization UNCCD.
UNCCD team under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, awareness campaign about medicinal plants being run in Chhattisgarh and Mr. Awasthi, Provincial Secretary of Traditional Vaidya Sangh of Chhattisgarh State, knowledge of medicinal plants under Home Herbal Garden Scheme. And has appreciated the efforts being made for the revival of traditional knowledge based medicine.
Appreciating this, Mr. Rajeb Bulharout of UNCCD Secretariat honored him by issuing a certificate. 4800 traditional Vaidyas of Chhattisgarh state have welcomed this and everyone is happy. Awadhesh Kashyap, Provincial Treasurer of Traditional Vanaushadhi Trained Vaidya Sangh, Chhattisgarh, informed that public awareness campaign is being conducted under the Public Health Tradition, Promotion Campaign and Ghar Angana Herb-Bodi Bagiya Scheme of Chhattisgarh state by distributing medicinal plants free of cost every year. . In addition to seasonal diseases, life-giving herbal medicines, including Bramhi, Ashwagandha, Satavar, Tulsi, Kalmegh, Giloy, Adusa, Chirayata, Pathar Chur, Mandupparni, Bhuiavala, Bhringraj, Hadjod etc., are distributed by the traditional doctors of the state.
