Vast Opportunities for Chartered Accountants in the Fast Growing State of Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has announced to give five acres of land to ‘The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’ for setting up ‘World Class Center of Excellence’ for commerce stream students in Chhattisgarh’s capital Nava Raipur. The Center of Excellence will be set up by ICAI. The Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing the two-day national convention of ICAI “Utkarsh” at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium here today.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said on the occasion that chartered accountants have an important contribution in the economic progress of any state and country. Chartered Accountants are like a mirror of trade, business and industry, who work to show their real economic condition and contribute by guiding them to make them financially strong. During the convention, a demand was made by the representatives of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to provide land for the establishment of the Center of Excellence. The Chief Minister said that for the progress of any sector, a good environment needs to be created for it. ICAI wants to set up a world class institute in Nava Raipur, for which the state government will give land.
The Chief Minister said that there are good prospects for Chartered Accountants in the fast growing state of Chhattisgarh. Due to the policies of the state government, an encouraging environment has been created in the field of agriculture, industry and trade in Chhattisgarh in the last quarter to five years. With the new industrial policy of the state government, new industries have started. Farming has become a profitable business in Chhattisgarh today. In the last five years, the number of farmers selling paddy on the support price in the state has increased from 12 lakh to 26 lakh. The area under cultivation has increased from 22 lakh hectare to 32 lakh hectare. Where earlier 55 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured on the support price, At the same time, this year we have purchased 107 lakh metric tonnes of paddy on the support price. The Chief Minister said that similarly in the field of health and education, every possible effort has been made by the state government to provide better facilities to the citizens. He said that Chhattisgarh has the highest consumption of electricity, where 2200 units of electricity are being consumed per person. The power demand has increased from 4100 MW to 5800 MW. The increase in electricity consumption is indicative of the economic progress of Chhattisgarh. During the Corona period, when there was an effect of economic recession everywhere, Chhattisgarh remained untouched by it. Industry, There was progress in all sectors including trade. He said that the biggest achievement of the State Government was the smile on the faces of the people of the State. It is the responsibility of the government to give flight to the dreams of the people. The state government is making continuous efforts for this. He said that to encourage trade and business, Asia’s largest wholesale market would be set up on 1000 acres in Nava Raipur.
On this occasion, the first acting Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court and former Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Mr. Ramesh Surajmal Garg, Vice President of ICAI Mr. Ranjit Kumar Agarwal, Founder of Lalluram News Mr. Namit Jain and members of the Center Council were present as special guests. The first Acting Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Mr. Ramesh Surajmal Garg said that Chhattisgarh has emerged as a model for the whole country today. Today Chhattisgarh can compete with any good state in the country. He stressed on the need to establish colleges and good institutes in rural areas. ICAI Vice President Mr. Ranjit Kumar Agarwal said that how to grow the economy of the state, how to increase the revenue collection and how to provide better facilities to the citizens, Chartered Accountants can contribute better for this. He told that ICAI was established in 1949 by passing an act by the Parliament. In 75 years, the membership of ICAI which started with 1600 members has increased to 4 lakhs. SSEB Chairman Mr. Mangesh Kinare told the program that the Center of Excellence will contribute in enhancing the skills of the children. Mr. Namit Jain and Chairman of Raipur Branch Mr. Ravi Gwalani, Chairman of Raipur Branch CICSA Ms. Rashmi Bhangla also expressed their views.
