Raipur: Five accused in Chital’s poaching jail

    Raipur, 03 October 2020. As per the instructions of the Forest Minister Mr. Mohammed Akbar, the forest department is continuing the action to protect the forests including prevention of poaching, timber harvesting and illegal transportation in the state. In this connection, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. Arun Pandey said that under the forest zone Mahasamund, action was taken to arrest the five accused of Jhumrabari Gaurkheda and Sirgiri by the joint team of Forest and Police Department in jail.

    Based on the information received from the informant in this regard, a joint search was carried out by the joint team at 9 am on October 3 at the house of Basant Vald Neelu Khadia, the main accused of village Jhumarbari Gorkheda. There, two bundles used for spotting hunting on the spot. The skull, jaw and neck bone of Tar and Chital were seized. On the basis of interrogation of the main accused, the Toran Vald Manglu Khadia of village Jhumarbadi Gaurkheda, Chanduram Ram Budhram Dhruv and Harichand Vald Barkhu Sahu of village Sirgidi and Loku Wald Kejau Diwan were also arrested and taken action under forest crime. . Subsequently, taking necessary action against them, all the five accused have been sent to jail. Chief Conservator of Forests Raipur Mr. JR Nayak informed that during the said action, as per the instructions of the Forest Officer, Mahasamund Shri Mayank Pandey, the Deputy Forest Officer,  S.S. Sailor.
