Raipur, 18 August 2021. In view of frauds taking place on digital platforms, common citizens have been appealed to take special precautions while doing financial transactions. There are many unauthorized mobile apps and websites doing financial transactions on the online platform. They do fraud by promising people to pay cheap loans and high interest rates on depositing capital. Common citizens should follow the RBI guidelines to avoid frauds while using online platforms and mobile apps.
Banks and NBFCs are registered with the Reserve Bank for financial transactions. Similarly, the lending work is done by the institutions controlled by the state government. While doing financial transactions, it should be confirmed whether the institution from which financial transactions are taking place is authorized by the Reserve Bank or the State Government. It has been brought to the notice of the State Level Coordination Committee that fraudulent attempts are made through unauthorized digital platforms, mobile apps and fake customer service centres. Apart from this, false inducements are given regarding appointment of fake Customer Service Centers (CAPs), Bank Mitras and Business Correspondents of commercial banks by misusing the emblems of major banks through lucrative websites.
Common citizens should avoid such temptations and never share copies of KYC documents with unknown persons, unverified or unauthorized apps. In case of any doubt, the Reserve Bank or various agencies of the State Government should be contacted and confirmed in this regard. Apart from this, complaints should be lodged through the Sachet portal https://sachet.rbi.org.in and legal agencies.
