On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, short term agriculture loans are being distributed to maximum number of farmers of the state. So far, short term agriculture loans worth about 6281 crore rupees have been distributed to farmers in the state through 2058 cooperative societies by state cooperative banks. This year, the state government has set a target of distributing loans worth 7300 crore rupees to farmers. Short term agriculture loans are being provided to farmers as per their demand and area. Whereas last year, as of today, short term agriculture loans worth 6 thousand 193 crore rupees were distributed.
It is worth mentioning that the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme has been started by the state government with the objective of fulfilling the basic needs of farmers and to provide them convenience in farming. Apart from this, one of its main objectives was to save farmers from the clutches of moneylenders. At present, lakhs of farmers of the state are benefiting from this scheme.
