Paddy purchase: payment of more than 22 thousand crore rupees to farmers this year

A delegation of Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat paid courtesy call on Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office in the capital this evening. During this, the Chief Minister was invited by the delegation to attend ‘Chandra Ji Raat’, the birth anniversary program of Lord Shri Jhulelal Sai, as the chief guest. This program will be held on March 22, 2023 from 9 pm at B.T.I. located in Shankar Nagar of the capital. Will be held on the ground. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel thanked the delegation for the invitation to the birth anniversary program of Lord Jhulelal Sai.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that our government in Chhattisgarh is continuously working for the upliftment of people of all sections. As a result of public welfare programs conducted in their interest here, farmers, laborers and businessmen, people of every class have created an atmosphere of happiness. He further informed that after the implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana in Chhattisgarh, paddy production is continuously increasing every year. Last year 98 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured and now this year more than 107 lakh metric tonnes has been procured breaking all previous records.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel informed that the work of paddy procurement was successfully conducted in the state. For this, better arrangements were made by the administration, due to which the farmers got a lot of convenience in selling paddy. In this way, an amount of more than 22 thousand crore rupees has been paid to the farmers this year by conducting paddy procurement in a systematic manner. This year, Chhattisgarh has the highest number of farmers selling paddy across the country, which is a record.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel further said that important decisions were taken in the interest of farmers as well as rice millers and businessmen in the state. Fulfilling our promise, we have increased the incentive amount for custom milling from Rs.40 to Rs.120. Due to this, there has been a lot of speed in custom milling including paddy lifting. Chhattisgarh is constantly setting new records in the field of paddy procurement and processing because of the smooth operation of the custom milling process. This year, 249 new rice mills have been established in the state, under which the number of millers registered for custom milling in the state has increased from 2035 to 2284. In this way, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the people of every section including farmers, laborers and traders in the state.
On this occasion, office bearers of Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat Mr. Srichand Sundarani, Mr. Indrakumar Dodwani, Mr. Ramesh Mirghani, Mr. Kishore Ahuja etc. were included in the delegation.
