Raipur, 6 October 2022

Seeing the benefits of organic farming, farmers of Chhattisgarh have started adopting it rapidly. Along with the use of vermicompost, super compost made from cow dung in Gauthans, farmers are now using organic insecticide Brahmastra and crop growth enhancer Jeevamrut in place of chemical pesticide. It is worth mentioning here that organic farming is being promoted by the Chhattisgarh government in the state. In view of the increasing cost of cultivation due to chemical fertilizers and pesticide, as well as the loss caused by it, the trend towards organic farming has increased. The easy availability of organic fertilizers and organic pesticides is also proving to be helpful in this.
It is worth mentioning that under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being purchased in Gauthans for Rs. The production of organic fertilizers from cow dung and organic pesticides from cow urine is being done by women self-help groups associated with Gauthans. So far, 53231 liters of cow urine has been purchased under the purchase of cow urine that started from the Hareli festival on July 28, 2022, in return for which an amount of more than Rs 2.13 lakh has also been paid to the cattle sellers by the Gauthan committees. Insect control bramhastra and incremental Jeevamrut are being prepared from cow urine. So far, out of 17784 liters of Brahmastra prepared from cow urine by women’s groups, 13,609 liters of Brahmastra farmers paid Rs. 43 lakhs has been purchased and used in agriculture. Organic pesticides from cow urine are being prepared continuously in Gauthans so that it can be easily supplied to the farmers.
