Raipur, 02 November 2020. New measures are being taken to promote the cultivation of pulses oilseeds in the state. Farmers of Jashpur district are earning additional income by cultivating Mr. Mohar Ram, Mr. Dilip and Mr. Shyamlal Arhar. Farmers residing in remote areas of the district are being encouraged to produce agriculture as well as other crops. Farmers of the district are earning good income and becoming self-sufficient by cultivating tea, coffee, cashew, litchi, pears, peppers and potatoes. The farmers are being benefited from various schemes run by the state government.
Farmer Mr. Shyamlal of village Bahnatangar in Pathalgaon development block of Jashpur district, Mr. Mohar Ram, farmer of village Bamba of garden development block and Dilip Kumar Sai of village Ara in Jashpur development block are earning good income by cultivating tur in their fields. These farmers have been provided free seeds of pigeon pea by the Agriculture Department. Farmer Mr. Dilip Kumar Sai told that in about 8 acres, 8 farmers are doing farming together. Due to which they earn an income of three lakh 50 thousand in a year. Under Athar Yajna of the Agriculture Department, the target was to plant a total of 947 acres in the district under the Tur crop crop demonstration area. In the Kharif season year, one thousand 214 farmers have planted tur crop in 947 acres. 75.76 quintal seeds worth Rs. 4 lakh 62 thousand have been distributed to farmers by the Department of Agriculture.
