Raipur, 18 June 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that till a few years ago, farmers used to stand at the doors of moneylenders to ask for loans, farmers used to become defaulters in societies. Every year there was concern about fertilizers and seeds, but today big finance companies are standing in their door frame, some are ready to give tractors, some want to sell motorcycles. This change has come from the farmer friendly schemes and decisions of the state government. The Chief Minister was addressing the virtual program of inauguration and Bhumi Pujan in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts at his residence office here today.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel has said that farmers are becoming financially strong due to farmer-friendly schemes. The economy of the villages is being strengthened by schemes like loan waiver, purchase of paddy on support price, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva, Garuva, Ghurva, Bari. Money is coming into the pockets of the poor and farmers. Big companies know that more money is coming to the villages of Chhattisgarh than the cities. Finance companies are ready to provide immediate finance to farmers for tractors and other equipment. At the time of the lockdown, when there was a slowdown in the whole country, the maximum number of tractors and motorcycles were sold in Chhattisgarh. Shri Baghel inaugurated 265 different development works costing Rs 226 crore 96 lakh in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts in the virtual program and performed Bhoomi Pujan. He inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of 121 works costing about Rs 104 crore in Korba district and 144 different construction works costing Rs 122 crore 96 lakh in Janjgir-Champa district.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel announced the approval of many works in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts in a virtual program on the request of the people’s representatives of the area. Mr. Baghel said that Darribraj-Gopalpur road in Korba will be approved soon. The Chief Minister announced the approval of Gopalpur-Barbaspur road with the approval to start a power store house in Korba in two months. Similarly, he built 132 KV at Baloda in Janjgir-Champa district. Assured to issue tender soon for power sub-station of capacity. The Chief Minister assured to include the demand for approval of Dabra to Kharsia road, testing of barrage in river Mand and lift irrigation at Dabra and high school at Sukda Mohai in the next budget.
The Chief Minister said that the women power of Chhattisgarh is behind the change that is visible in the villages today. Rural women are producing organic manure from cow dung in large numbers, today due to them our fields are becoming fertile again and they are also getting employment. The Chief Minister said that in view of the benefits of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, now its scope has been extended further. Now along with paddy and sugarcane, maize, kodo, kutki, tur, soybean, pulses, oilseeds have also been included under the ambit of the scheme. New sources of income have been opened for the farmers by making new provisions in the scheme. The farmers who had taken paddy in the field last time, this year if they take other major Kharif crop, or do plantation, then they will be given more input assistance than the input assistance received on paddy. An input assistance of Rs 10,000 per acre will be given for planting other crops in place of paddy and Rs 10,000 per acre for plantation for three years. There will be no need to take permission from anyone to cut your trees in future. The Chief Minister said that in view of the experience gained from the first and second wave of Corona, we are making arrangements for every government hospital from the block to the district. All the collectors have been instructed to prepare and submit an action plan for this in 15 days.
Presiding over the program, Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha Dr. Charandas Mahant said that in such a short time, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, commendable work has been done in Chhattisgarh to make the underprivileged stand on their feet and take the people of weaker sections forward. The rural economy has been strengthened by the Narva, Garuva, Ghuruwa, Bari scheme. The works of the Chhattisgarh government are being praised in America as well. Minister in-charge of Korba district Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that work is being done to make agriculture profitable in Chhattisgarh. First the loans of the farmers have been waived, then the work has been done to get them the right price for the produce. Minister in-charge of Janjgir-Champa district, Shri T.S. Singhdev said that despite the crisis of Corona, the pace of development in Chhattisgarh did not stop. Work has been done for the upliftment of all sections.
Revenue Minister Shri Jaisingh Agrawal said that the work of construction of roads in Korba district has been done expeditiously. Now it takes only 3 hours to travel from Korba to Raipur. MPs Mrs. Jyotsna Mahant and Mr. Guharam Ajgale, MLA and Vice-Chairman of Central Zone Authority Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, MLA Sarvshree Nankiram Kanwar, Mr. Ramkumar Yadav, Mr. Saurav Singh and many public representatives also expressed their views on the occasion. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were present at the Chief Minister’s residence on this occasion.
