Raipur: Even during the Corona crisis, the economy of Chhattisgarh remained strong due to the schemes of the state government: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur, 14 June 2021. Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel has said that the Corona crisis has affected the economy of the entire country, but there was neither lack of employment nor bread in Chhattisgarh during the entire Corona period. The economy of Chhattisgarh remained strong and dynamic even during this challenging time due to the schemes of the state government. Priority work is being done for the welfare of farmers and forest dwellers in the state. Schemes like Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Godhan Nyay have been started. Through these schemes, farmers, women and villagers are getting employment in the villages itself.

 

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the program after inaugurating various construction works costing about Rs. 592 crore in Raigad and Jashpur districts and performing Bhoomi Pujan in a virtual program organized at his residence office today. These include construction and development works worth Rs 308 crore 31 lakh in Raigad district and Rs 283 crore 70 lakh in Jashpur district. On this occasion, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Food Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat, Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Guru Rudra Kumar, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Chief Minister K. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu was present. Higher Education Minister Shri Umesh Patel, MLA Shri Prakash Nayak, Shri Chakradhar Singh Sidar, Shri Laljit Singh Rathia, Smt. North Jangde and Parliamentary Secretary from Jashpur Shri U.D. minz, MLA Sarvshree Vinay Kumar Bhagat, joined the program. On this occasion, the Chief Minister discussed with the beneficiaries of various schemes in both the districts and inquired about the benefits of the scheme from them.

 

The Chief Minister said that Raigad and Jashpur districts have a lot of potential for horticulture crops along with agriculture. Paddy, Kodo-Kutki along with Pear, Cashew, Litchi, Strawberry are being produced in Jashpur. Now preparations are going on to take apple crop here. He said that tea is being cultivated in Jashpur. Tea processing unit has also been set up. Women self-help groups are being provided employment in villages through Gauthans established in the district. During the Corona period, women of self-help groups have earned a lot of name by making sanitizers from Mahua. Chavanprash made by the women here is also becoming very famous. Arrangements are being made by the government to increase the production of Jawaphool rice of Lailunga in Raigad district, export it and sell it on the online platform.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has really brought justice to the farmers during the Corona crisis. In the Corona period, this scheme has provided great support to the farmers. The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has now been further expanded. This year new sources of income have been opened for the farmers by making new provisions in the scheme. In the fields where farmers had sown paddy last time, this year if they take second crop or plant trees, they will be given more input assistance than the input assistance received on paddy. He said that farmers who sow Kodo-Kutki have also been brought under the ambit of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. With this, more farmers of forest dwelling areas will be able to get the benefit of this scheme. The support price of Kodo-Kutki has been fixed at Rs 3000 per quintal.
The Chief Minister said that now forest produce has become a means of big change in Chhattisgarh. During the Corona crisis, the number of forest produce to be purchased on support price was increased from 7 to 52. Due to this, not only did a large number of forest dwellers get a fair price for collecting forest produce, but it also started a new era of change in the forest dwelling areas. Several steps have been taken for the betterment of forest dwellers in Jashpur and Raigad districts. Individual and community pattas and forest resource rights have been given to forest dwellers to get their entitlements.
The Chief Minister said that in order to ensure that the school education of the children is not affected during the Corona period, arrangements have been made for online and offline education through Padhai Tuhar Dwar programme. The government is making arrangements to build the future of the children from whom Corona snatched their parents. The Mahtari Dular Yojana has been started so that there is no hindrance in their education. The state government will bear the full cost of education of such children, along with scholarship will also be given and priority will be given to these children for admission in Swami Atmanand English Schools.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that rapid development work is being done in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Baghel. Despite the Corona crisis, in the last one week, development works worth Rs 4446 crore have been completed in 16 districts. Food Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat said that Chief Minister Shri Baghel sensitively arranged free rice to them to provide relief to the poor during the Corona crisis. This year also, rice for May-June has been given free of cost in the month of April. By increasing this, it has been decided to provide free rice till November.
