Raipur: Estimates of loan disbursement of Rs 39,170 crore by banks in Chhattisgarh

A State Debt Seminar was organized at the Regional Office of NABARD, Nava Raipur, under the chief hospitality of Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey. Due to which a new change is being seen in the agriculture sector in the state in the last three years. He said that Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state. The livelihood of about 75 percent of the population here is dependent on agriculture. The development of agriculture is necessary for the development of the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the work of improving agriculture and rural economy is being done expeditiously. Processing industries related to agriculture and minor forest produce are being set up continuously. In view of this situation, he appealed to the banks to increase the credit at the base level in the state. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey appreciated the role of NABARD in the financial assistance and development activities to the state. On this occasion, he especially urged all co-operative banks to set up at least 5 ATMs in their respective branch areas.
Dr. D. Ravindra, Chief General Manager, NABARD gave detailed information about the annual credit plan prepared by banks in Chhattisgarh in the seminar and elaborated on the role of NABARD in the development and promotion of infrastructure in the state. It was informed in the seminar that during the year 2022-23, a loan of 39 thousand 170 crore has been estimated in the state of Chhattisgarh, out of which the share of agriculture sector is Rs 21805 crore. Credit potential of Rs.12556 crore has been assessed for micro, small and medium industries.
