Every candidate has to publish thrice information about his criminal cases, also in the event of uncontested election.
Raipur, 12 September 2020. The Election Commission of India has issued an amended time-limit for publishing and disseminating information by candidates about their criminal cases during elections. As per the new directives of the Commission, the candidates and political parties (in respect of candidates nominated by the party) participating in the election will have to make their first publication within the first four days of the last date of withdrawal of nomination to inform voters of their criminal cases. . It will have to be published and published in newspapers and television for the second time within the fifth to eighth day of the last date for withdrawal of nominations and for the third time from the ninth day between the last date of election campaign (two days before polling).
In the event of uncontested election, candidates and political parties will have to publish and publish information about criminal cases. The booklet is being published by the Election Commission of India compiling all the instructions and forms issued in this regard for the use of candidates and people involved in the election process. The Commission hoped that this booklet would help in sensitizing voters and people participating in elections. These amended directives of the Commission have come into force with immediate effect.
