Raipur: Effect of Monday Code of Conduct: Posters-banners of political parties removed,

As soon as the assembly election schedule was announced, the district administration and corporation staff in Raipur have removed the banners and posters of leaders and political parties from public places. The work was done to cover the pictures of the leaders by applying stickers on the sign boards installed on the roads.

Raipur Collector has banned the leave of officers of all departments. Model code of conduct has come into effect in Chhattisgarh from Monday. Due to the elections, the district administration has also come into action. Arms licenses were canceled due to the elections.

As soon as the code of conduct was imposed in the assembly elections, all the arms licenses have been cancelled. License holders have been asked to deposit their weapons in the concerned police station within 7 days. The Collector has said that this order will also be applicable on licensed weapons residing in the district and those coming from outside the district. After the code of conduct is over, weapons will be returned to everyone.

The arms licenses of security guards of persons holding constitutional posts, bank security, security guards deployed at ATMs, National Rifle Association and security guards deployed for the security of industrial institutions, educational institutions and important government institutions in the district have not been cancelled. Guards deployed for the security of banks, ATMs and institutions have been exempted from depositing weapons.

Permission will have to be taken for loudspeakers and processions

During the election code of conduct, it will be mandatory to take permission from the district administration for loudspeakers and processions. Punitive action will be taken against playing loudspeaker or sound system without permission and holding any kind of rally meeting. Propaganda material should not be visible on government buildings and boundary walls.

Permission will have to be taken before placing any kind of promotional material on public properties like government buildings, boundary walls, road dividers, electricity and telephone poles. If anyone puts promotional material on these or does wall painting without permission and information, the Property Defacement Squad will take immediate action. The Collector has instructed the officials to follow the Defacement of Property Act in urban and rural areas. Bhoomi Pujan and inauguration work will not be done.

After the implementation of the Code of Conduct, inauguration of development works and Bhoomi Pujan will no longer take place in the state. However, the works for which tender or bhoomi pujan has already been done will continue.

Voting on 7 assembly seats of Raipur district on 17th November

Elections will be held on 7 assembly seats of Raipur district on 17th November. Notification will be issued on October 21 for the assembly elections of Dharsiwa, Raipur (Rural), Raipur (West), Raipur (North), Raipur (South), Arang and Abhanpur. The last date for nomination will be 30th October. The last date for withdrawal of nominations will be 02 November, the date of voting will be 17 November and the counting of votes will be done on 03 December. The entire process of assembly elections will be completed by December 5. In this regard, the Collector held a meeting of nodal officers and also gave necessary instructions.
