Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Union Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav today inaugurated the electronic auction system in Chhattisgarh at Aranya Bhawan in Nava Raipur. On this occasion, the state-of-the-art auditorium ‘Dandakaranya’ constructed by the Forest Department at a cost of Rs 2 crore was also inaugurated. Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, MLA Gajendra Yadav and Central Forest Director General and Special Secretary to the Government of India Shri Jitendra Kumar also attended the program.

    The e-auction system will bring competition and transparency in the auction of wood in various timber depots of the Forest Department. In the process of e-auction, e-auction work can be done by MSTC through EOI. By conducting the timber auction of timber depots through e-auction, the payment process for the government and the bidder will become quick and transparent. This will increase the revenue of the state government.

    It is worth mentioning that in Chhattisgarh state, auction of timber, beams, commercial bamboo and firewood is done in various timber depots of the forest department. 27 sales depots are being operated in the state. At present, there was a lot of paperwork and records were being maintained in the process of additional payment, now with the launch of e-auction system, there will be relief from paperwork.

The auditorium has been constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore.

    This ultramodern auditorium, newly constructed by the Forest Department at a cost of about two crore rupees, has a seating arrangement for 140 people along with facilities like interior decoration, light, sound system, air conditioning, stage, LED screen. It was needed for the seminars, workshops, training programs for field staff, Joint Forest Management Committee members held from time to time in the Forest Headquarters. With its inauguration, various programs organized by the Forest Department at the headquarters level can now be held in a ‘state of the art auditorium’. Senior officials of the Forest Department including Principal Forest Conservator and Forest Force Chief Shri V. Srinivas Rao, Chief Forest Conservator Shri Sudhir Kumar Agarwal were present in the program.
