Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the All India Steel Conclave
Raipur, 26 March 2023
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the All India Steel Conclave on Sunday. On this occasion, while addressing steel entrepreneurs from all over the country, he said that Chhattisgarh government is ready to take steel sector forward. Steel industry is the backbone of the economy of Chhattisgarh, but during the last few years the steel industry is facing many challenges. Sometimes the crisis of expensive electricity comes to the fore, sometimes the crisis of fuel comes to the fore, sometimes the need for cheap raw materials is strongly felt, and sometimes the crisis of corona and lockdown comes to the fore. But due to the policy of the Government of Chhattisgarh during the Corona period, the industries were not closed.
The Chief Minister said that the government may incur losses but we have given you exemption in electricity so that the industries run smoothly. Coal from our state goes to the whole country, we did not allow the supply of coal to be disrupted during the Corona period. I demand from the Central Government through Raipur MP that steel businessmen should get coal linkage from SECL. The Chief Minister said that the roads are very bad because of the coal mines. Transport has become very expensive due to bad roads. Therefore, at the time of setting up an industry, the road should also be taken into the project.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that when the second wave of Corona came, there was shortage of oxygen in the country’s capital and other states, but there was no shortage of oxygen in Chhattisgarh, we immediately gave license to industrialists to set up oxygen plants. There was pressure of oxygen across the country, so I urged the Prime Minister to give some oxygen to the steel plant as well. So that the plant can also run. During the Corona period, laborers were migrating across the country, but the situation was not like this in Chhattisgarh. Due to the better industrial policy in our Chhattisgarh, industries continued to run well even during the Corona period. When the Corona crisis came and the circumstances of the lockdown were created, it was once felt that the steel sector of the state would die, But we worked side by side. In the midst of a severe crisis, the government became the strength of the steel sector and our steel industry became the strength of the government. Even during the Corona crisis, we produced the maximum steel in the country. During the last four years, the industrial scenario of Chhattisgarh has completely changed. Forest and Environment Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Raipur MP Mr. Sunil Soni, Steel Conclave officials Mr. Ramesh Agarwal, Mr. Surendra Tripathi were present in the programme.
