Urban Administration Minister gave instructions to use cow-wood in cremation and bonfire
Raipur 25 December 2020. The cow wood and kandas, which are prepared in about 322 gothanas operated under the urban bodies of the state, can now be used for cremation. Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahriya has not only appealed to use cow wood to be built in Gothan at cremation / Muktidham site under all urban bodies for cremation in place of wood but he has also done important places including Muktidham. But instructions have also been given to make sale of cow-wood at a discounted rate. With the initiative of the Urban Administration Minister, there will be a spurt in the construction of cow wood in Gothanas, while women of self-help groups will also get a happy opportunity to become self-reliant with new employment opportunities. The most important thing is that the use of cow-wood in cremation will stop the cutting of millions of trees in a year. Eco-friendly cremation will also protect the environment and the concept of a clean and pollution-free city.
Pollution and sanitation is a major challenge in many cities of Chhattisgarh, embodying the dream of smart city. While there are many reasons for the spread of pollution, the Urban Administration Department has taken a very important and positive step in this direction. Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria has given instructions to use cow-wood and kandas on priority in cremations performed in all urban body areas of the state. He has said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister of the state, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, gothanas have been built across the state. About 377 gothan are approved in urban bodies. Out of which 322 dung is purchased in cow dung. In these Gothan, women of self-help groups are working and preparing cow-wood, organic fertilizers, kandas and other cow products. Minister Dr. Dahria has said that Gau Mata is revered for all of us. The government of Chhattisgarh has continuously worked towards cow protection. Apart from purchasing cow dung from cattle ranchers, they have arranged well-equipped plantations. Now the cow wood made in these gothanas will also be used for cremation. This will stop the harvesting of millions of trees in a year. Which will not harm our environment.
Two 20-20 year old trees will be cut in a cremation
According to one information, up to 500 kg of wood is burnt in a cremation. This 500 kg of wood originates from two trees of 20–20 years old. The harvesting of about two trees behind a cremation is encouraging. Along with this, we are also harming our environment by promoting the cutting of trees. Regarding the tree, it is believed that a tree makes oxygen of 5 lakhs, medicines of 5 lakhs, soil conservation of 5 lakhs, seating arrangement of 50 thousand birds, insects, beehive and adaptation of the environment. They also protect against the risk of ultraviolet radiation. The tree releases 7 to 11 tons of oxygen in its life and receives up to 12 tons of carbon dioxide. If you use cow wood and cow dung made of cow dung instead of wood for cremation, then it will also have many benefits. A cremation will take about 300 kg of cow’s wood, which will save expenses. The burning of cow wood will not also cause pollution and with the increasing importance of cow, new employment opportunities will also be created. Felling of trees will stop. With the promotion of environmental protection, you will be able to breathe clean air. Vice President of Seva Samiti, an Initiative Seva Samiti, who has performed several cremations from cow-wood and kande in Raipur Corporation area, says that people are now becoming aware. Gau-wood and Kande are also used in many cremations in Raipur. He informed that apart from saving trees and trees from cow-wood, new employment opportunities and self-reliance are also encouraged. Therefore, people should use cow-wood made in Gothan instead of wood as a new alternative to fuel.
Instructions have been given to use cow wood in bonfire too
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Dahria has given instructions to prioritize cow-wood and kandas instead of wood for cremation in areas falling under the civic area, while he burnt checks for common citizens during cold and cold wave Instructions have been given to use cow wood in compulsory bonfire also. Wooden bonuses are burnt at more than 400 hundred places in the municipal bodies of the state. This number keeps on decreasing according to cold and cold wave. Flames are burnt at an estimated 51 places in Raipur Municipal Corporation area. The total number of municipal corporations, municipalities and nagar panchayats under the urban body in the state is 166. It is natural that the use of cow wood in large numbers as cremation and bonfires will reduce the use of tree wood, thereby reducing the scope for spreading pollution and preventing unnecessary cutting of trees.
