Raipur, 04 March 2021. The distribution ceremony of the Divyangjan State Level Award 2021 was organized by the Social Welfare Department on March 4 in the Directorate premises located at Mana Camp, Raipur. In the ceremony, 8 individuals and institutions were honored with State Level Award for Divyangjan by Social Welfare Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia. On this occasion, 2 National Award winning institutions and 5 persons with disability, social service and special achievements were also honored. Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Chhaya Verma, Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Chairman Shri Gyanesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
He got Divyangjan State Level Award-
1. Shri Tejram Sahu – In the category of Best Visually Impaired Employee, Shri Tejram Sahu, a resident of village Diabati of Balod district, was awarded for his distinguished and remarkable contribution. Shri Sahu is visually impaired since birth. He is M.A. Along with passing Hindi D.Ed., he is a master of music in singing. Even after having 100% vision impairment, he has been providing education to visually impaired students in Braille script for 16 years and making them self-supporting. At present, you are working as a teacher in Government Primary School, Darra, Development Block Gurur, District Balod. He has a special contribution in the cultural programs of the school.
2. Mr. Arvind Sharma- In the category of best visually impaired employee, Mr. Arvind Sharma, resident of Sorid Nagar of Dhamtari district was honored with state level award. Mr. Sharma is visually impaired by birth. He passed the examination of MMC, NAB, IT. He is providing computer technical education to visually impaired students since 2013 at Residential Special Training Center Kachandur District Balod. He won the bronze medal representing Chhattisgarh in the National Paralympic Judo Competition of the year 2014-15. By joining the Chhattisgarh Divyang Manch, during the Kovid epidemic, he made people aware of vaccination with the help of providing dry ration to the Divyangjan.
3. Shri Saurabh Kumar Pandey- Shri Saurabh Kumar Pandey, resident of Dunganiya, Raipur was awarded the Best Hearing Impaired Employee for his work efficiency and devotion to duty. Mr. Pandey is 80 percent hearing impaired, he is working as a special assistant in State Bank of India, Raipur. He has been awarded a citation by the bank for his best work.
4. Shri Rameshwar Prasad Sahu- Shri Rameshwar Prasad Sahu, a resident of Gudhiyari of Raipur district, 80 percent of the bones are obstructed. He has been awarded the Best Orthopedically Handicapped Employee for his dedication and hard work. He is working as Data Entry Operator since 2015 in Medicine Distribution Center at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur. He received training in DCA, BA and typing in English, Hindi language. During the Kovid epidemic, he rendered his services by attending the work every day while doing human service as front line warriors.
5. Khemraj Jan Kalyan Seva Samiti- Khemraj Jan Kalyan Seva Samiti of Padkibhat in Balod district was rewarded for exemplary work being done for Divyangjan in the category of Best Orthopedically Handicapped Employer. By providing self-employment training to disabled men and women, the committee is being made self-supporting. Women with disabilities have been given training by the committee. 13 women have been given the work of uniform by the Khadi industry. At present 83 Divyangjan are getting training for self-employment.
6. Fortune Foundation Social Service Organization – Fortune Foundation Social Service Organization located at Saraipali in Mahasamund district has been awarded for the best visually impaired organization. The work of educational development and overall rehabilitation of visually impaired persons is being done by the institution since 2013-14. Teaching-training is being provided to 70 percent visually impaired students in the institution. These children are being taught Braille, mobility and music. The institution is providing education to 44 visually impaired children under inclusive education. 5 Gold Medals, 11 Silver Medals and 7 Bronze Medals have been won by the organization in the National Para Athletics Championship Competition. Along with this, 2 boys and 2 girls have won gold medals in the state level para sport competition.
7. Premdhara Charitable Society-(Nav Jeevan Moob Deaf School)- Premdhara Charitable Society of Janjgir-champ district has been awarded the best hearing impaired institution. A special school for the hearing impaired is being run by the institution from the year 2018. Here educational and rehabilitation services are being provided to the hearing impaired students. Teaching work is being done by the institution to the students with proper technology through yoga practice, speech, reading and collective hearing aids. Along with school education, these children are being given vocational training according to their qualifications. During the Kovid epidemic, the organization distributed ration and masks in the villages and made arrangements for online education for the students.
8. Janjgir-Champa District- Janjgir-Champa has been awarded the state level award for best district for providing rehabilitation services to the differently-abled. An environment conducive to rehabilitation of persons with disabilities has been created in the district. Authentication and UDID registration of 12 thousand 861 Divyangjans have been done in the district and artificial limbs and assistive devices have been provided to 8545 Divyangjans. Along with this, they were benefited from various schemes run for the differently-abled.
