Raipur, 03 August 2023
Those who do not keep pace with the fast-paced world are often left behind in the battle of life. In such a situation, it was difficult for Mr. Poonam Patel, who is 80 percent orthopedically disabled in both legs, to go out of the house even for his daily work. Mr. Poonam, a resident of Gudhiadih village of Mahasamund district, wanted to move forward in his life, but due to physical disability and financial problems, he was living a dependent life on others. At such a time, the help received from the Social Welfare Department of the state government changed his life.
Shri Poonam Patel said that due to his disability, he was dependent on others for his daily activities. Meanwhile, he came to know that the Divyangjans are benefited by the Social Welfare Department as per their eligibility. He reached the Social Welfare Department, Mahasamund and applied for a motorized tricycle. Keeping in view his condition, the department immediately took action and provided him with a battery operated motorized tricycle. He told that due to the financial condition of the house not being strong, he was not able to buy a motorized tricycle.
He is very happy to have received a motorized tricycle from the state government. Now he works in the surrounding area selling biscuits, bread and other food items on his motorized tricycle. This enables them to live. He has expressed gratitude to the State Government and Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for prompt action on his application. He said that after getting a motorized tricycle, he would not have to depend on others for his personal work. Now they have become self-sufficient. They are also able to come and go for their works easily.
