Raipur: Discussion paper became the cause of educational innovations in the state

 Raipur, 1 June 2021. The formation of professional learning community in schools of Chhattisgarh, social audit, encouragement of zero investment innovation, interesting use of science, orientation of mothers, school development scheme have formed the basis of innovations like discussion paper. Through this, it has been successful in bringing many innovative changes in the system of schools and educational activities. The discussion paper has proved to be very useful for explaining the various components under schemes like Education Quality Campaign and ‘Padhai Tuhar Duar’. Apart from this, there are many such tasks, which have been an important role of discussion paper in the implementation at the ground level.  

    It was through the discussion paper that all the questions of cleanliness survey were shared among the teachers and the creation and implementation of the environment for this was ensured. As a result, the state also received cleanliness related awards. Similarly, the discussion paper contributed to the participation in IGNITE and INSPIRE awards and encouragement of various online courses by more than one lakh teachers.

    Provision has been made for continuous capacity development of teachers at the cluster level in the state by attending monthly meetings-cum-training. Continuous capacity development of teachers has been emphasized by various joint review missions. It is not possible to provide long duration training to a large number of teachers by teacher training institutions. To overcome this shortage, the State Project Office of Composite Education prepares a discussion paper on a date every month for the last 6 years and is made available to the teachers. The discussion paper was prepared by the Pedagogy branch at the State Project Office and shared earlier through various social media groups. But now it is being made available for download and read with audio version in CGSchoolDotIn website. The entire process involves zero cost, but the impact at the grassroots level is enormous. 

    A total of 10 agendas are provided in the discussion paper for organizing academic discussions and these agendas are discussed and prepared together based on local conditions for implementation in schools. Usually monthly meetings are held in such a way that regular classes are least affected. According to the decisions taken in the monthly meetings, the teachers organize necessary activities in their respective schools and also share the information with each other through social media. For example, when information about augmented reality was given, hundreds of teachers tried to make the class interesting by using this technology in their respective classes.
