Receiving five national awards for good work in National Urban Livelihood Mission and PM Swanidhi is a big achievement – Shri Arun Sao

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw today felicitated the officials and beneficiaries of urban bodies who were awarded the ‘Spark’ awards by the Government of India at his residence office in Raipur. These officials and beneficiaries had come for a courtesy meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw after he returned from New Delhi after receiving the award. Shri Saw patted the back of all the urban bodies, their officials and beneficiaries who were awarded by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. He congratulated everyone for this achievement.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw said on this occasion that receiving five national awards for good work in the National Urban Livelihood Mission and PM Swanidhi is a big achievement. Out of these five, three awards have been received by our urban bodies for securing the first position in the whole country. At the same time, one award has been received for being in the second position in the whole country. Chhattisgarh has received the third prize in the whole country for excellent work in both the schemes. The state has received all these awards for fulfilling the dreams of the urban poor. He said that through the National Urban Livelihood Mission and PM Swanidhi, people are becoming self-reliant. Their life is becoming easier and happier. They are becoming empowered. Your hard work is bringing changes in the lives of the urban poor. I appreciate you for this.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao told the officials of SUDA, Bilaspur and Raigarh Municipal Corporation and Bhatapara and Champa Municipality present in his residence that you people are doing good work to realize the dreams of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The dream of developed Chhattisgarh and developed India has to be brought to reality through such excellent works. He said that we all will work together to make the lives of citizens easy, comfortable and prosperous through the schemes of the state and central government. We have to deliver these schemes to the targeted people in a planned and timely manner.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw felicitated Mr. Sumit Kisku of Jashpur Municipality and Mr. Kushal Ram Sahu of Lormi Nagar Panchayat, beneficiaries of PM Swanidhi Yojana, nominated by the State Government for their participation in the National Award Ceremony held on July 18 in New Delhi. He also felicitated Mrs. Mridula Jain of Happy Mahila Self Help Group of Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Chitrarekha Sahu of Radha Rani Self Help Group of Bhilai Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Priyanka Lokwani, Mrs. Ragini Tonde, Mrs. Triveni Lahare, Mrs. Sunita Dewangan, Mrs. Sunita Yadav, Mrs. Saraswati Jha and Mrs. Kanchan Trivedi, nominated as beneficiaries of National Urban Livelihood Mission.
During the felicitation of officers, self-help groups and beneficiaries by the Deputy Chief Minister at his residence, State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) Chief Executive Officer and Mission Director Mr. Shashank Pandey, Bilaspur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Amit Kumar, Bhatapara Chief Municipal Officer Mr. Lal Ajay Bahadur Singh, Champa Chief Municipal Officer Mr. Durga Prasad Adhikari and Mr. Bhola Singh Thakur were present. State Urban Development Agency Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sunil Agrahari, Project Officer Mrs. Jagriti Sahu, State Mission Manager Mr. Vivek Shukla, Mr. Prashant Amoli, Mr. P. Ghosh, Mr. C.L. Pathak, City Mission Manager Ms. Ekta Sharma, Komal, Reema, Sarita, Sushma Seema, Ranu, Maya, Naz Padmavati, Neeraj Sahu and Sant Kumar Mahato also participated in the program.
The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has awarded these urban bodies
Under the prestigious ‘SPARK 2023-24’ awards given by the Government of India for outstanding work in Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM), Bilaspur Municipal Corporation was awarded the first prize in the whole country in the population category up to ten lakh. At the same time, Raigarh Municipal Corporation was awarded the first prize in the population category up to three lakh and Bhatapara Municipality in the population category up to one lakh in the whole country. Champa Municipality got the second prize in the population category up to 50 thousand. Chhattisgarh was awarded the third prize in the whole country for the best work in the National Urban Livelihood Mission. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Manohar Lal and Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu distributed these awards in a ceremony organized at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi on 18 July.
