Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Bilaspur district, Shri Arun Sao held a meeting of officials in Bilaspur today and reviewed the progress in the implementation of government schemes and development works. While ensuring the quality of the construction works, he gave instructions to speed up the under construction works and complete them within the time limit. He said that instead of relying on contractors, officers should visit the fields themselves and see the progress of the works. He stressed on quick resolution of problems arising in government work. MLAs Mr. Dharamjit Singh and Mr. Sushant Shukla and Bilaspur Mayor Mr. Ramsharan Yadav also attended the review meeting.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, after taking introduction of the officers, reviewed the progress of department-wise works. In view of the impending summer season, he instructed to be alert by making an action plan to deal with drinking water and seasonal diseases. He instructed to complete the construction works on time and pay special attention to the quality. He asked the engineers to spend more time in the field than in the office. Don’t rely solely on contractors for information. He expressed his displeasure over the works pending in the Water Resources Department for more than a decade. Shri Sao gave instructions to resolve these in a timely manner under the guidance of the District Collector. He said that problems are like diseases. If not resolved in time, ulcers develop. After digging the road by the PHE department, it is left open. Expressing anger over such works, he gave instructions to repair the road immediately after the work is done.

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sao told the officials in the meeting that the way of working has now changed. Officers should adapt themselves to the changed environment. The old pattern will not work. He asked to speed up the airport work. Instructions were given to remove the obstacles coming in the way of night landing and complete the work on top priority. He started a campaign to repair roads and fill potholes. The Deputy Chief Minister asked for prompt disposal of pending applications of farmers for pump energization in the electricity department. He also asked to take immediate measures to solve the problem of low voltage. Taking information about PM Janman Yojana, Shri Sao expressed satisfaction over its progress. He gave instructions for continuous monitoring of Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao directed the Chief Medical and Health Officer to ensure timely presence of doctors in hospitals. He gave strict instructions to stop illegal trade of sand, liquor and drugs in the district. He said that these are spreading diseases in the society. Illegal activities increase crime and worsen the law and order situation. Strict action should be taken against criminals, the public will also cooperate in this. Shri Sao asked to keep all the offices as clean and organized as a house. He asked the officials of the Urban Administration Department to visit the city at 6.30 in the morning and inspect the cleanliness. This will see a change in the system.        

Shri Sao said in the meeting that the accountability of officers and public representatives is towards the public. We are the ones who provide maximum benefits of government schemes to the public. He asked the officers to work sensitively and solve the problems arising in the work. He said that the image of the government is formed by the work of officers and employees. People’s trust in the government increases. When you meet people regularly, you will come to know their needs. The government has no shortage of funds for any scheme. Collector Shri Avnish Sharan informed about the progress of major schemes in the meeting. He assured to work as per the instructions given by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sao. District level officers of all departments including Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajnesh Singh, DFO Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Amit Kumar and District Panchayat CEO Mr. Ramprasad Chauhan were present in the meeting.
