Raipur, 24 March 2021. The delegation of Chhattisgarh Traffic Federation met the Transport Minister Mohammad Akbar at his residence office on Civil Line here today. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Transport Minister on various demands and discussed them with him. The owners of passenger vehicles included in the Chhattisgarh Traffic Federation’s delegation also demanded to extend the last date of submission of K&M by the Transport Department on 31 March 2021. Along with this he also demanded an increase in passenger fares. The Transport Minister assured to consider the demands of the delegation.
Officials of the traffic union said that they suffered significant financial losses due to the closure of passenger vehicles during the Corona period. Due to increase in petrol and diesel prices and increase in passenger fare due to insurance amount, toll tax, parking etc., it would be appropriate. He also suggested the government to fix the average increase for year to year rent increase in a phased manner. In the meeting, the Transport Minister asked the vehicle owners to give suggestions in this regard. Transport Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Additional Transport Commissioner Mr. Dipanshu Kabra, President of Chhattisgarh Traffic Federation Mr. Prakash Deshalhara along with officials of Transport Department and Union officials were present.
