Chhattisgarh has written a letter to Madhya Pradesh government

Consent of both the states is necessary under Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Act

The consent of Madhya Pradesh is awaited for dearness relief to the pensioners of Chhattisgarh. According to the announcement made by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the process has been started for 04 percent increase in dearness relief to the retired government employees of Chhattisgarh. According to the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Act, the Chhattisgarh government has written a letter to the Madhya Pradesh government for consent for the speedy implementation of the announcement.
At present, on the basis of the consent of the Madhya Pradesh government, dearness relief is being paid at the rate of 38 percent from July 01, 2023 on the pension payable to the retired government employees of the state. It has been decided by the state government to give dearness relief at the rate of 42 percent from July 01, 2023. For this, the Finance Department has written a letter on 02.08.2023 seeking consent from the Government of Madhya Pradesh under Section 49 of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Bill, 2000. For the division of pensionary obligations between the states of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, it is necessary to obtain consent for the payment of pension relief between the two states under the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Act 2000 from the time of state formation.
