To give a new identity to the district, a garment named Danex is being prepared. 04 Nava Dantewada Garment Factory is being developed to develop Dantewada as a garment hub. In Danex (Dantewada Next), the garment will be supplied all over the country. Shri Baghel was addressing a general meeting at Dantewada, the district headquarters today.
The Chief Minister said that as important as development is, it is equally important to preserve our culture. Devgudi rejuvenation has started from Gamawada, Devgudi will be rejuvenated in all the seven districts of Bastar division. He said that the Suchithan Abhiyan was started in Dantewada district to free mothers, sisters and children from malnutrition and anemia. Significant success has been achieved in reducing the rate of malnutrition in only 10 months. In Chhattisgarh, 99 thousand children have been freed from malnutrition and 20 thousand women have become free from anemia due to good nutrition campaign.
The Chief Minister said that the government has taken the initiative to restart the Bodh Ghat multipurpose project pending for 40 years. With the completion of this scheme, not only will the lives of the farmers of Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts be completely changed, but the benefits will be extended to Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts. Referring to the efforts being made by the government to increase the income of farmers and forest dwellers of Vananchal region, he said that Tendu Leaves collection remuneration was increased from Rs. 2500 to Rs. In the forest areas, 52 types of minor forest produce are being purchased at the support price. The income of forest dwellers during the Corona period should not be affected, so the work of collecting forest produce in Chhattisgarh was not stopped even during the lockdown days. As a result, Chhattisgarh had the largest collection of minor forest produce at the time of lockdown.
The Chief Minister said that the farmers who have been holding land on the forest land for years, have done the work of distributing the land with promptness. Along with individual leases, community leases and community forest resource rights are also granted. Chhattisgarh tops the country in grant of forest land leases. He said that no person will be allowed to remain landless in scheduled areas, people who do not have land will also be given land. Also, the support price of Kodo-Kutki will be announced by the government soon. Kodo-kutki processing plants will be set up.
The Chief Minister said that Gothans are being constructed in every village so that the animals are well cared for, grazing crops are damaged and milk production will also increase. These gothanas are also being developed as livelihood centers, where thousands of mothers and sisters of self-help groups are receiving income from various activities. Chhattisgarh government is the first government in the world, which is buying cow dung for two rupees a kilo. People who have neither livestock nor land, are also collecting dung and earning income today. Earlier people used to buy motorcycles by selling paddy, now they are buying motorcycles and ornaments by selling cow dung. He said that the Swami Atmanand English Medium School Scheme has been started so that children of the poor can also study in English medium. Currently 52 schools are being operated under this scheme. 100 more schools will be started next year.
