Thousands of people thronged the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center Raipur on 10th December. In the pleasant weather of this day, students from far flung places like Kawardha visited the center. The single day visitor figure crossed 1000. In the 10 days of December, more than 2000 students from 23 schools, including students of different tribes from Prayas and Eklavya schools, along with students of special backward tribe Pahadi Korwa, visited the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center in Raipur.
Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center has many attractive activities like 3-D show, Planetarium continuously attracting visitors. Also, a huge green science park with science exhibits along with a 3D film based on NASA shown in 3D shows and night sky shown in the planetarium also attracts a lot of visitors to the campus. Along with this, Science Quiz based on different galleries in the Science Center on every Saturday has also been a center of great attraction for the students coming from different schools.
On the occasion of 10th December being International Human Day, an awareness lecture was given to the students from different schools by Dr. Shirish Kumar Singh, Scientist and Engineer, Mr. Amit Kumar Meshram. The lecture will focus on the relationship between human rights and science and analyze the ways in which research in science can protect the rights of the general public as expressed by the International Covenant on Economic and Cultural Rights (ICESCR ) . This has important implications for scientific endeavor, including education, funding, and peer review. At the same time, scientific information and products should be accessible to the general public. During the lecture, Mrs. Pragya Kadam, Scientific Officer, Mr. Varun Kumar Mishra, Ms. Tarini Verma, Ms. Shreya Mishra, along with other officers were also present.
