Raipur, 27 June 2020. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the works of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Companies and CREDA in detail in a meeting held at his residence office here today. He told the CREDA officials that along with the arrangement of electricity through inaccessible and inaccessible areas, solar pumps should be given to the farmers at places where there are no power lines along the river. The Chief Minister said that in places where there is a complaint of heavy metal or salt water in the water, water supply should be made through surface water.
The Chief Minister directed to make plans for water supply using surface water due to complaints of salt water from river water at Supebheda in Gariaband and in Bemetra, Balod, Dhamdha, Saja and Nawagarh. He reviewed various schemes and works of CSR items of power companies. Reviewing the power received from private power plants on variable casts, the Chief Minister said that notices should be issued to the plants which do not supply the prescribed quantity of power. Solar drinking water scheme, Saubhagya Yojana, Solar Sujala Yojana, Solar Cold Storage, Solar Energization of Government Buildings, Solar Power Plant etc. were reviewed.
In the meeting, CREDA officials informed that so far 78 thousand 730 pumps have been installed under the Solar Sujala scheme. With this, irrigation facility is being provided in 2 lakh 46 thousand acres. It is targeted to install 20 thousand solar pumps in the year 2020 -21. This will help irrigate about 50 thousand acres. Irrigation facility has been provided on 3450 acres in 40 community irrigation projects. Drinking water is being provided to 3.25 lakh families through 11459 solar drinking water pumps in 5998 villages and habitats in the state. Similarly, 281 solar water purification plants have been set up.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. RP Mandal, Chairman of Power Companies and Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrata Sahu, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Kaiser Haq, MD, Chhattisgarh Power Distribution Company, MD of Transmission Company Mr. Ashok Kumar, MD of Trading Company, Mr. Rajesh Verma, Generation Company MD Mr. NL. Senior officials of power companies and CREDA including Bijora were present.
