130 students of residential schools run across the state for the children of special backward tribal communities of the state paid a courtesy call on Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike at Raj Bhavan today. During this, Governor Sushri Uike interacted with the children of the tribal community. Along with this, he inquired about the status of studies from the students in their residential school.
Students belonging to the state’s special backward tribes Abujhmadia, Baiga, Birhor, Kamar and Pahadi Korva community are being taken on a two-day educational excursion program to selected places in Raipur. In this sequence, today these students were taken on a tour of the Raj Bhavan under the leadership of Commissioner, Tribal and Scheduled Tribes Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi.
On this occasion, Mrs. Abidi apprised the Governor about the educational tour program for the students of special backward tribes and the schemes being run for the students. The Governor while interacting with the children asked them about their experiences of the educational tour.
When the students, eager to meet the Governor, asked the Governor, how did you become the Governor?, then the Governor answered very politely, sharing his life’s struggles and experiences with the children. The Governor told the children that if you have the spirit of service, you too can become the Governor. He said that all of you should be aware of your rights and also make others aware and provide necessary help to the needy people.
The Governor also listened to the grievances of the children and directed the concerned authorities to redress them. The Governor asked them to study well to achieve their goals and inform their teachers and higher authorities if they face any problem. On this occasion, he also wished all the students for their bright future.
On this occasion, Smt. Abidi presented books related to tribal subjects to the Governor. On this occasion, Legal Advisor to the Governor Mr. Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Secretary, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Welfare Department, Mr. D.D. Singh, Deputy Secretary to the Governor Mr. Deepak Kumar Agarwal and senior officers of the department were present.
