On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Khubchand Baghel, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the birth anniversary celebrations organized at Naveen Market, Dr. Khubchand Baghel business complex located at Phool Chowk in capital Raipur today. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel garlanded the statue of Dr. Khubchand Baghel installed in the campus and offered floral tributes to him. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the people present said that Dr. Khubchand Baghel was the first dreamer of Chhattisgarh. His contribution to Chhattisgarh can never be forgotten. Dr. Khoobchand’s personality was multidimensional. He was also a skilled organiser, doctor, well wisher of farmers, leader of cooperative movement, writer and good artist. Dr. Khoobchand Baghel took part in the freedom movement. His mother and wife were also freedom fighters.
The time of independence of the country was the period of new construction of our nation. At that time the question was how to make Chhattisgarh emerge on the map of India in a new India. How to find solutions to the questions of the people of Chhattisgarh. Dr. Khubchand Baghel said that there is only one solution to all these questions and that is to become a separate state of Chhattisgarh. Many great men contributed in the formation of Chhattisgarh and today we have got this new state. After the formation of the state, we are working to fulfill the expectations of our forefathers.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that after the formation of our government, the first decision we took was loan waiver of the farmers. After that, by taking a decision to buy 2.5 thousand rupees a quintal of paddy, the yield of the farmers was accepted. Chhattisgarh has 44 percent forest. That’s why we made arrangements for the purchase of 65 types of minor forest produce. The two horrors of our state were very big. One migration and the other Naxalism. Both these problems have reduced a lot. We have also taken many steps to make Chhattisgarh culturally prosperous. The state of Chhattisgarh has got its own national anthem. Dr. Khubchand Baghel was a supporter of the culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh. We celebrated Labor Day on 1st May as Sacks Day. There is a song by Dr. Khoobchand Baghel – Gajab vitamins bhare hai he Chhattisgarh ke baasi maa. We honored his song and the food of Chhattisgarh by celebrating Bore Basi Diwas. Today, the identity of Chhattisgarh in the country is due to its culture. Is from purchase of minor forest produce, Swami Atmanand is from English medium school. There has been a change in thinking about Chhattisgarh in the country and the world. For the first time, we organized a tribal dance festival, in which many dance groups from India and abroad participated. Our effort is to bring out and save the ancient, historical, mythological heritage of Chhattisgarh. This is the same change that our forefathers had dreamed that every Chhattisgarhiya would have the self-respect of being a Chhattisgarhi. We are installing the statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari in all the districts. We are working to give importance to the culture of Chhattisgarh. To bring out and save the mythological heritage.
