Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the Tribal Samaj Sammelan organized in the auditorium of Government Postgraduate College this evening during his stay in Kawardha under the state-wide visit meeting campaign. Addressing the tribal society on this occasion, he said that as soon as our government is formed in the state, continuous work is being done for the protection and upliftment of the tribals. He clearly conveyed that tribals would not be deprived of the benefits of reservation in the state. For this the tribal society need not be worried in any way. On this occasion Health Minister Shri TS Singhdeo, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Pandaria MLA Smt. Mamta Chandrakar and officials of tribal society were present in large numbers.

During this, Chief Minister ShriBaghel announced the construction of a museum of Baiga tribal society at Bhoramdev for the promotion and promotion of the culture of the special backward tribe Baiga society on the demand of the tribal society. Along with this, he also announced upgradation of Post Matric Hostel at Kawardha from 50 seater to 100 seater and construction of additional room at Adivasi Mangal Bhawan Kawardha. Apart from this, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also congratulated the student of Government Higher Secondary School Rengakhar Jungle in Bodla block. On getting selected in IIT Kharagpur, Radhana Meravi announced a grant of three lakh rupees for her higher education.

Addressing the Chief Minister, Mr. Baghel further said that for the welfare of the tribals in the state, many schemes have been made keeping in mind the needs and expectations of the tribal society and work is being done to take them forward by implementing them with full sensitivity. Under this, development of Devgudi and Ghotul is being done on priority to give a new identity and promotion to the tribal culture in the state. In this way, with the protection and promotion of Devgudis and Ghotuls, the primitive values ​​of life are being revived and preserved in the state. He said that in order to introduce the tribal culture of Chhattisgarh to the country and the world, a glorious festival like National Tribal Dance is organized. In this last year, tribal dancer groups from different states from across the country and 6 countries participated, due to which the fame of the primitive culture of Chhattisgarh has reached the international level.

Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that while ensuring effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act in the state, we have confirmed the rights of tribal society on water-forest-land. We have started providing forest rights in the state as well as in the reserve area along with individual forest rights letter, community forest rights card and community forest resource rights. The confidence of the tribals in the government has been strengthened by ensuring the rights over water, forest and land. We managed to convince them that now their own government is working in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that for the upliftment of tribals in the state, the collection rate of tendu leaves has been increased from Rs. 2500 per standard bag to Rs. 4000 per standard bag. Similarly, by making arrangements for collection and sale of 65 types of minor forest produce at support price, processing and value addition at the local level, our government has not only increased the income of the tribals, but also created employment opportunities. Apart from this, now, like minor forest produce, good arrangements have been made for their collection and purchase by fixing the support price of small cereal crops like kodo-kutki and ragi. He informed that at present 22 types of products are being prepared by our women groups through the processing of nutritionally rich small cereal crops. In this, hundreds of people are getting employment through self-help groups and they have also got a new source of income.

Meenakshi Dhurve, Pusuram Baiga, Tulsi Ram Surkhia, Semlal Padiya, Smt. Dasab Padiya, Sambal Singh Baiga etc. were present.
