Raipur, 12 January 2022. School Education Minister and Minister in-charge of Korba district, Dr. Prem Sai Singh today reviewed the preparations being made for the prevention and treatment of third wave of Kovid infection from his residence office. In the review meeting held virtually, Minister Dr. Tekam said that all the work of prevention and treatment of Kovid infection should be done with caution, so that faster and better facilities can be provided to the people. He said that following the Corona protocol, all types of economic activities should be conducted. Hoarding, profiteering of essential commodities of daily use should also be strictly monitored. Dr. Tekam said that for the treatment, care and public awareness of the corona victims, cooperation of voluntary organizations, public representatives, public companies and business organizations of the district should also be taken.
Minister Dr. Tekam said that continuous monitoring should be done to prevent Kovid infection in Korba district. Due to the abundance of industrial activities in the district, special attention should be paid to the corona test of people coming from outside. Corona investigation of people coming from border states and abroad should be done compulsorily. Medical equipment should be checked and repaired in the wards earmarked for the care and treatment of corona patients in hospitals. All necessary arrangements including oxygen supply should be ensured in hospitals. Dr. Tekam said that the field staff of the Health Department should be deployed for COVID testing in public places like railway stations, bus stands etc. Information of people coming from abroad should be compulsorily given to the Kovid Control Room.
Apply mask, make two yards distance, get Kovid vaccination done: Minister Dr. Tekam’s appeal
Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that the present corona is spreading very fast. It is easily infecting people of all ages. He has appealed to people to wear masks, avoid going to crowded places and get corona vaccine to avoid corona infection. Dr. Tekam said that the district administration is making all possible efforts to prevent the spread of Kovid infection. Everyone over the age of 15 must get the Kovid vaccine. Getting the Kovid vaccine greatly reduces the risk of infection. Vaccination also protects people from the risk of death due to Kovid. The Minister-in-Charge appealed to social organizations and PSUs to volunteer in vaccination, provide food and drink in Kovid hospitals, ambulances, help the administration in getting people to follow home isolation and contact tracing.
In the meeting, Collector Smt. Ranu Sahu informed that all people above 15 years of age are being vaccinated against Corona in the district. So far, a total of more than eight lakh 78 thousand people have been vaccinated against corona. According to the estimated target, 97 percent of the people have got Kovid vaccination. Appropriate arrangements have been made for the treatment of serious corona patients by keeping them in Kovid Hospital and patients with common symptoms in home isolation. CMHO Dr. B. B. Bode said that more than two thousand people are being tested for corona every day in the district. If a corona infected patient is found in an area, as per the requirement, that area is being made a containment zone. At present, 257 containment zones have been created to prevent the spread of corona infection.
