Emphasis placed on quality check and maintenance of works
Raipur, 2 May 2020 .857 works costing Rs. 3022 crore will start soon in the state. In this regard, Public Works Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu held a meeting of senior officers of the department at his residence office in Raipur today. He instructed to complete the tender process for the sanctioned works in various sanctioned construction works – roads, buildings, bridges, culverts, underbridge-over breezes, national highways and Naxal-affected areas as per instructions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and start work soon. In the meeting, Mr. Sahu instructed the officers to ensure quality in construction works and arrangements for third party inspection in all construction works as per the instructions given by the Chief Minister on April 26, according to the review of departmental work. He has extended the period prescribed for annual maintenance work of roads and bridges from 3 years to 5 years. He also directed to conduct a surprise inquiry into the construction works by creating a departmental inquiry committee. Additional Chief Secretary of Public Works Department Mr. Amitabh Jain, Secretary Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Chief Engineer Mr. Vijay Kumar Bhatpahri and all Chief Engineers were present in the meeting.
Approved works for which tenders are to be invited in the meeting were reviewed division wise. Approval of about 857 works in the state has been issued by the Public Works Department. The total cost of these works is 3022 crores. Tenders will be invited on a large scale for these in the next two months. It was informed in the meeting that in March 2020, administrative approval for 83 works of 839 crore rupees has been given. These mainly include construction of Chanderi to Khauli Marg in Raipur District, Fourlane Road from Pulgaon Naka to Anjora in Durg District, Basni Kanharpuri Tumakala Bori Road 15 km, Borsi Hanoda Kokdi Powwara Marg, Tarighat Kohi Ranitarai Marg, Utai, District Durg Pauvara Janjgiri Anda Marg, Khobha to Jabalpur Road, Chhotikhadan, Bortara to Surkhi Marg of District Balodabazar, New of Sector 13 of Dwarka Suburb of New Delhi The new Chhattisgarh building construction works, including grandson of Sindh Marg from Janjgir and Madhwa Tendubhata Karamdi Marg from Lachhanpur Check, Kharsia to Sarwani Bargarh Road in Raigarh district. In these, such works which have been done above 75 percent will be completed on priority.
