Commercial Taxes Minister Shri T.S. Singhdeo today held a detailed discussion with various business and business organizations regarding the problems, anomalies and simplification of GST. He also received suggestions in this regard from the office bearers of both the organizations. Principal Secretary, Commercial Taxes, Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi and Commissioner Mr. Samir Vishnoi were also present during the event.
During the discussion held today at Naveen Vishram Bhawan, Civil Lines, Shri Singhdev said that after the arrival of Corona, there has been an adverse effect on the economy. During this, the burden of collection of GST and other taxes is directly on the states. He said that petroleum products may also come under the purview of GST in the coming times. At present, the states are getting their share of VAT. After coming to GST, if it is kept in the slab of 28 percent, then the state government will get only 14 percent of the revenue. The remaining 14 percent will be kept by the central government. He said that the views of the representatives are very important in the direction of improving the system for businessmen, governance and citizens in Chhattisgarh. All of us are sitting together today to take suggestions from business organizations and representatives. He urged all the officials to submit the suggestions related to GST to the department in writing in the next 2-3 days.

Traders Association, Chhattisgarh Computer and Media Dealers Association, Chhattisgarh Electronics Traders Association, Chhattisgarh Mobile Association, Dumtarai Business Developers, Dumtarai Traders Welfare Federation, Raipur FMCG Distributor Association, Raipur Timber Merchant Association, Raipur Plywood Traders Association, Chhattisgarh Timber Traders Association, Marble and Simplification of GST from representatives of Tiles Professional Association, Raipur Crusher Operator Association, Wholesale Grain Traders Welfare Association, Raipur Dal Mill Association and Chhattisgarh Pradesh Rice Millers Association,Received suggestions regarding removal of discrepancies and collection of more tax.
