Raipur, 19 May 2021. During the current year 2021, 10 lakh 13 thousand 354 standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected in Chhattisgarh, which is more than 60 percent of the target of 16 lakh 71 thousand 700 standard bags. Of these, the total amount payable to tendupatta collectors is Rs 405 crore 34 lakhs.
According to the information received from the State Small Forest Produce Association, till now more than 75 percent tendu patta has been collected in four different forest divisions under Jagdalpur forest circle. Similarly, 71 percent has been collected in 6 different forest areas under Kanker Forest, 64 percent in 4 forest areas under Durg Forest Circle and 70 percent in 4 forest areas under Raipur Forest Circle. Apart from this, Tendupatta has been collected up to 59 percent in 7 forest divisions under forest cover Bilaspur and 40 percent of the target in 6 forest divisions under Surguja forest circle. Among them, tendu patta has been collected up to 84 percent of the target under Vanmandal Kanker till now. Similarly, 82 percent has been collected in Vanmandal, Bijapur, 78 percent in Sukma, Gariaband and 77 percent in East Bhanupratpur.
