Raipur, 17 September 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today launched a combined course of ITI vocational education along with higher secondary education in higher secondary schools of the state on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. In this two-year course jointly prepared by Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education and State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT), students will be able to study classes 11th and 12th as well as ITI course. In this course, students who pass the 12th examination will get a certificate of ITI along with higher secondary. This will save the time and energy of the students.
This course, started with the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, will prove to be a step that will bring a big and sweeping change in the school education of Chhattisgarh. The children studying in this will be given a certificate of class 12th by the Board of Secondary Education, from which they can take admission in higher education and will also get a certificate of ITI, from which they will be able to get employment. Both the courses will run concurrently. The Chief Minister had directed the ministers and officers of the Department of School Education and Technical Education to implement such a combined course in the schools of Chhattisgarh. Which started today.
The Chief Minister, Mr. Baghel, in a program organized by video conferencing at his residence office here today, made a historic beginning of this curriculum designed for quality vocational education along with schooling in schools of Chhattisgarh from Swami Atmanand School, Patan in Durg district. Higher Education and Technical Education Minister Shri Umesh Patel, who is associated with video conferencing, presided over the program.
Under this course launched by Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, 80 students have been selected in Patan. Out of these 40 girls have been selected for Stenography Hindi and 40 boys for welding course.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on this occasion that a new beginning is being made in the field of education in Chhattisgarh today. The children of Chhattisgarh will become skilled along with studying in schools and will also be able to contribute in the new construction of Chhattisgarh. Mr. Baghel said that in higher secondary classes, children will now be able to choose subjects to learn skills along with main subjects. Welder trade for students and Hindi Stenography syllabus for girl students has been prescribed. This course will be of two years duration. This course will be completed in two years during class 11th and 12th. Children who get skill training at the school level itself, it will be easy to get employment in small and big industries being established in Chhattisgarh. They will be able to stand on their feet through self-employment. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that in future this employment oriented course will be expanded and new trades can be included in it as per the need. There will be no confusion in front of the students regarding their future. They will be able to go to any corner of the world and get employment.
Shri Baghel said that 172 English medium schools have been started in the state to provide quality education in English medium to the children of Chhattisgarh. Similarly, it has been decided to upgrade multipurpose Hindi medium schools as Swami Atmanand Hindi medium schools.
Presiding over the program, Higher Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel said that as per the vision of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, this new experiment is being started by the Department of School Education and Higher Education in Chhattisgarh from today. Through which students will get technical education along with school education and they will also be ready for employment with their learned skills. He said that in the coming time this course would be expanded to the entire state. Collector Durg Shri Sarveshwar Bhure said that for this course, out of five subjects of class 11th and 12th, students will be able to choose technical subject instead of one of the two language subjects. He said that a lab has been prepared for this course at Swami Atmanand School, Patan. Shri Ashwani Sahu, President, Agricultural Produce Market, Durg delivered the welcome address.
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Food Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat, MLA Mr. Ram Kumar Yadav, Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Girish Devangan, School Education Department Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Higher Education and Technical Education Department Special Secretary Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Secretary, Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Prof. V.K. Goyal was present at the Chief Minister’s residence. Many public representatives, including Collector Durg Shri Sarveshwar Bhure, selected students for the course were present at Swami Atmanand English Medium School, Patan.
Children of Swami Atmanand School, Patan, Tarendra Kumar Sahu and Pooja Devangan, while discussing with Chief Minister Mr. Baghel through video conferencing, thanked him on behalf of the students of the school for starting this course. Tarendra Kumar Sahu said that he wanted to get such education after class 10th, which could provide employment. Now with 12th they will get ITI certificate. Pooja Devangan said that after passing 12th she will get two certificates.
