Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain held a meeting of the Divisional Commissioners of Raipur-Bilaspur-Durg division and Collectors of Janjgir-Champa-Rajnandgaon-Mahasamund-Baloudabazar-Bemetara-Raigarh-Balod-Raipur and Bilaspur districts through video conferencing from Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today. In the meeting, mainly the quantity and number of farmers purchased so far this year as compared to last year, status of delivery of miller gunny bags to the committee, availability and staking plan of gunny bags for upcoming purchases, paddy lifting from committees, depositing rice by millers. , Registration related to paddy procurement and purification of revenue records, potentially sensitive issues in paddy procurement, efforts of the district to provide better experience and information collection to farmers, immunization and covid testing at paddy procurement centers and to deal with covid infection. There was a review regarding the preparedness of the districts. The District Collectors informed the Chief Secretary in detail about the progress made so far on the prescribed subjects.
Shri Amitabh Jain has said in the meeting that review will be done every week to be aware of the progress of paddy procurement process at different points. The progress of nine districts has been reviewed in today’s meeting. In the coming days also, the progress of the ongoing paddy procurement in the districts will be reviewed. In the meeting, on the basis of the feedback of the districts, the difficulties faced in the procurement of paddy and other technical issues will be resolved at the state level. Shri Jain has instructed the zonal officers posted for the paddy procurement centers to conduct regular inspections of the procurement centers. He has asked all the collectors to take a weekly review meeting of the zonal officers in the districts to get information about the difficulties, better procedures in the paddy procurement centers and get the procurement process done smoothly. He has given instructions to expedite the lifting of paddy.
Chief Secretary Shri Jain has directed to organize regular testing and vaccination camps in paddy procurement centers. He has said that the process of vaccination and testing should be accelerated by distributing the paddy procurement centers in the form of clusters. Shri Jain has instructed to take seriously the work of tracing the passengers coming to Chhattisgarh from abroad. He has said that the names, addresses and other information of such passengers should be recorded in the help desks set up in the airports, so that they can be facilitated in their tracing and treatment if necessary.
