Raipur : Chief Minister’s Office Room in Assembly premise is based on the theme of Bastar culture and the rural life of Chhattisgarh

The interior design of the Chief Minister’s Office in Vidhan Sabha premise beautifully incorporates folk culture, Bastar art and rural environment of Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated his renovated office room in Vidhan Sabha premise. The interior design of this office of Chief Minister in the assembly premise is based on the theme of rural civilization of Chhattisgarh and culture of Bastar. The entrance to the office room gives the feel of the entrance of a village house. The traditional tribal dances of Bastar have been carved at the entrance of the office room. Besides Bastar Art, artefacts based on forest produce of Chhattisgarh have also been engraved on the walls.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant, Leader of Opposition Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudrakumar, MLA Mr. Mohan Markam, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Secretary Public Works Department Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were present on the occasion.
Chhattisgarh state’s folk culture, folk dance, Bastar art and rural lifestyle have been beautifully incorporated in the renovation work CM office in Vidhan Sabha premise. CM Office has a photo of Chhattisgarh Mahtari depicting the love and reverence for the state. The state song ‘Arpa pari ke dhar..’ is also engraved on the wall in the meeting hall. The wall of the room is adorned with gaur horn, world famous bell metal artefacts of Bastar depicting tribal folk dance. The state of Chhattisgarh is covered with forests and is full of biodiversity, inspired by which animals and birds have been shown prominently in the pictures used for the beautification of the room.

A picture of a pair of cow-oxen has also been put on the walls of the room because cow is a symbol of faith and oxes are significant part of agriculture in the state. On the day of Govardhan Puja, farmers worship cows and oxen and decorate them. The doors of the chamber are designed to resemble the traditional rural environment. In addition to the Chief Minister’s room, a meeting room, two common passages located in the Vidhan Sabha have also been furnished.

Gaur Mukut used in the famous Gaur dance of Bastar has been used as a lamp and has a bulb installed inside. Photographs of bell metal artifacts have been installed in the Chief Minister’s office room, besides two sun-shaped sculptures depicting villagers dancing instead of rays. The logo of Chhattisgarh government has been placed behind the chair of the Chief Minister. The beautification work of the Chief Minister’s office room has been done by the Public Works Department
