Raipur, 25 September 2021. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the state government has implemented “Mukhyamantri Lok Kalakar Protsahan Yojana 2021” to encourage folk artists from Bastar to Surguja region in Chhattisgarh and to promote Chhattisgarhi culture. Under this, the preservation and promotion of folk art, culture, tradition, customs, Teej-festival, food and drink, crafts, aesthetic arts, musical instruments will be done. It has become effective with publication in Chhattisgarh Gazette on 10th September 2021. Under this scheme, incentive amount will be given to 100 artists in every financial year.
According to the information received from the Director Culture, under the Chief Minister’s Folk Artist Promotion Scheme, 30 artists and parties associated with dance music, folk drama, folk saga, Chhattisgarhi lyricist genre, 24 thousand rupees, 25 artists associated with musical instrument, 18 thousand rupees, craftsmanship. 15 thousand rupees to 20 artists associated with Chhattisgarh, 12 thousand rupees to 15 artists associated with Chhattisgarh cooking (Chhattisgarhi cuisine) and 15 artists associated with Chhattisgarh beautification (shringar) genre, an annual incentive of only 12 thousand rupees through e-payment. will be given from
To take advantage of this scheme, artists will have to compulsorily register in the Chinhari portal and the annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs.96 thousand. Incentive amount will be provided to the selected artists once in a financial year. A five-member selection committee has been constituted by the state government to determine the eligibility-selection of artists, which will determine the eligibility-selection.
