Youth from remote areas are also getting the benefits of Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme and they are providing financial support to their families by establishing their own employment. Santosh Telam, a resident of village Tumnar of Bijapur district, who took advantage of the scheme, is very happy to establish his own employment today. He told that since childhood, due to the shadow of his father being over his head, there was a lot of difficulty in maintaining the family. Mother used to support the family by doing farming work alone.
Somehow, after 5-6 years, elder brother started helping his mother by learning electrical repairing work through mobile YouTube. Santosh also kept going with his brother to do electrical work at the district headquarters Bijapur. Then some of his colleagues advised him to start his own business. Santosh also contacted District Trade and Industry Center Bijapur to start his own grocery business. They were informed about getting the benefit of grant on applying for loan. Under the Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme, a loan of Rs 2 lakh was made available for a grocery shop in the year 2022-23. After loan approval, 7 days entrepreneurship training has been provided. Since the beneficiary was an entrepreneur belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category, the department provided a grant of Rs 50,000 at the rate of 25 percent on the sanctioned loan amount. Santosh is getting a steady income of about eight thousand rupees per month from grocery business.
