Godhan Nyay Yojana is the only such scheme in the country and the world, under which cow dung is being purchased at the rate of Rs.2 a kg in the Gauthans of Chhattisgarh state. 147.06 crore has also been paid to villagers selling cow dung in lieu of cow dung purchased till June 15 in Gauthans. After payment of Rs 3.69 crore to cow dung vendors on July 07, this figure will increase to Rs 150.75 crore. So far, an amount of Rs 136.04 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. After the payment of Rs 4.31 crore to Gauthan Samitis and Rs 2.84 crore to Self Help Groups on July 07, this figure will increase to Rs 143.19 crore.

       Vermicompost, Super Compost, Super Compost Plus and other products are being prepared on a large scale from cow dung purchased by women groups under Godhan Nyay Yojana in Gauthans. 16 lakh 43 thousand quintals of vermi compost and more than 5 lakh 14 thousand quintals of super compost and 18 thousand 924 quintals of super compost plus manure have been manufactured by women’s groups, which through societies are given to different departments of the government and farmers at a concessional rate. is being supplied. Apart from manure from cow dung, women’s groups are earning profit by manufacturing and selling go-casts, lamps, incense sticks, idols and other materials. Apart from this, vegetable and mushroom production, poultry, goat, fish farming and animal husbandry along with other income-oriented activities are being conducted by women groups in Gauthans. Due to which women groups have received an income of Rs 72 crore 19 lakh so far. There are 13,969 women self-help groups directly associated with Gauthans in the state, with a membership of 82,874. Electricity generation has been started in Gauthans by purchasing cow dung.

        The beginning of making natural paint from cow dung has also started in Hirapur Jarwai Gauthan of Raipur. According to the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Gauthans are being developed as Rural Industrial Parks. To promote income-oriented activities, agriculture and forest produce based processing units are being set up rapidly here. For the conservation and welfare of cow in the state, construction of Gauthans is being done at a rapid pace in the villages. There is better management of livestock care, treatment and free fodder and water in Gauthans. So far, approval has been given for construction of Gauthans in 10,624 villages in the State, out of which 8401 Gauthans are under construction and 1779 Gauthans are under construction. So far, dung worth Rs 15 crore 93 lakh has been purchased from self-supporting Gauthans. More than 2 lakh 11 thousand villagers from Godhan Nyay Yojana, Animal husbandry farmers are getting benefitted. Women make up 45.97 percent of those earning extra income by selling cow dung. More than one lakh 33 thousand landless families are getting benefited from this scheme.
