Raipur : Chief Minister to inaugurate and perform Bhoomipujan of construction works worth Rs 177 crore in Durg district on November 18

Raipur, 17 November 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate and perform bhoomipujan of development and construction works worth Rs 177 crore in Durg district on Thursday, November 18, in the programmes to be held at Municipal Corporation of Bhilai, Bhilai-Charoda, Risali and Jamul Municipality area. On this day, Chief Minister will unveil the development works worth Rs.104 crore for Bhilai Municipal Corporation. Chief Minister will inaugurate and perform bhoomipujan of construction works worth Rs 40 crore in Bhilai-Charoda Municipal Corporation, and the works worth Rs 27 crore in Risali Corporation. Likewise, works worth Rs 5 crore will be inaugurated and bhoomipujan of works worth Rs 1.91 crore will be performed in Jamul. On this occasion, Chief Minister will also distribute cheques of grant and financial aid to the beneficiaries of various government schemes.
In Bhilai Municipal Corporation, 25 self-help groups would be provided cheques worth Rs 30 lakh. Labour Department Officials informed that on the occasion, cheques of financial aid will be distributed to 143 labourers. Women and Child Development Department will also distribute goods to the beneficiaries under various schemes. Besides, fish seeds and fishnets etc will also be distributed at the programme to the beneficiaries.
Inauguation of Canal Road Construction and Beautification Works– Chief Minister On the occasion, Chief Minister will also inaugurate the Canal Road constructed at the cost of Rs 28 crore. Besides, various infrastructure development works and the works done under Fourteenth Finance will also be inaugurated.

Bhoomipujan of Remodeling of Surdung Reservoir– Chief Minister will also perform bhoomipujan of remodeling and lining work of Surdung reservoir and canal in the district. Presently, the total capacity of the reservoir  cannot be utilized because of the damage. On completion of the aforementioned work, the irrigation capacity will expand by 100 hectare area. In this way, additional irrigation capacity of about 62 hectares will be developed.
