Raipur: Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme: More than 44 lakh people took advantage of free treatment and health checkup facility

In Chhattisgarh, with the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, free treatment facilities are being provided to poor families living in slums of urban areas. So far, 44 lakh 1942 people have been treated through the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme by the medical team of the Mobile Medical Unit by reaching near the houses of the people in the slum settlements.
Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme, 120 mobile medical units equipped with doctors, paramedical teams, medical equipment and medicines are now providing health facilities to the people in the slums of the urban areas of the entire state. Pathology tests of 10 lakh 57 thousand 451 patients have been done so far through this scheme. Along with this, free medicines have also been given to more than 37 lakh 41 thousand 312 patients. Among the benefited patients, more than 2 lakh 76 thousand 663 hard-working people have also taken advantage of the free treatment check-up facility.
Under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, run by the Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government, so far 58 thousand 168 camps have been set up in the slums of 169 urban bodies of the state, people have been given medicines after free check-up and treatment. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria has given instructions to the departmental officers to provide free medicines to the poor people of urban areas and other needy people after health check-up.
It is noteworthy that the first phase of the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme was started on 01 November 2020 to provide health facilities to the people living in slums of 14 municipal corporation areas of the state. Under this, 60 mobile medical units started going to the slums for health check-up and treatment and distribution of medicines. On March 31, 2022, it was expanded to the urban body areas of the entire state and 60 more new mobile medical units were started.
