Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has paid his tribute to former Bastar MP Late Shri Baliram Kashyap by remembering him on his death anniversary. Recalling the personality and works of late Shri Kashyap, the Chief Minister has described him as a leader with a wide support base. He said that due to his popularity and deep connection with the people of Bastar, Late Shri Baliram Kashyap got the opportunity to represent Bastar for a long time in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the Lok Sabha of India as an elected public representative. He has also served the people of Bastar and the state as a minister in the then Madhya Pradesh government and as a member of various committees in the Parliament.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while remembering the virtues of late Shri Baliram Kashyap, said that in his more than 40 years of public life, he never compromised on his principles. He used to raise the voice of Bastar very vigorously in the Assembly and Lok Sabha. Throughout his life he dreamed of development, peace and welfare of the tribals in Bastar. He tried his best to give shape to these dreams as MLA, MP and minister in Madhya Pradesh government. He was truly a people’s leader of Bastar. It is noteworthy that late Shri Baliram Kashyap, four-time MP from Bastar, was born on March 11, 1936. He died on 10 March 2011 at the age of 74.
