Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has paid tribute to the famous art practitioner and music expert of Chhattisgarh, Maharaja Chakradhar Singh, on his birth anniversary on August 19. The Chief Minister said that the credit for developing Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh as the country’s major cultural center goes to Maharaja Chakradhar Singh. He has made a remarkable contribution in the preservation and promotion of the glorious culture of music and classical dance art. He developed a unique form of Kathak, which is known as Raigarh Gharana. He also composed many compositions and literary works of dance and music genre.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Raja Chakradhar Singh Samman is given by the Chhattisgarh government for remarkable contribution in the field of music and art. To make the contribution of Maharaj Chakradhar Singh in the promotion and preservation of music and dance art everlasting, the All India Chakradhar Festival is organized every year in Raigarh, in which well-known artists of the country give performances. The Chief Minister said that Maharaj Chakradhar Singh will always be remembered for his extraordinary contribution in the field of music and art.
