Yoga is the biggest medium to balance the soul, mind and body. Our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi established yoga on the world stage and today the whole world is achieving health by adopting this ancient Indian method. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said this today while addressing the felicitation ceremony for the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission, Shri Rupnarayan Sinha, to take charge.
In a grand ceremony organized at Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur with Vedic chanting, Chief Minister Shri Sai greeted the saints and received their blessings.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while congratulating the newly appointed Chairman of Yoga Aayog, Shri Sinha, said that Shri Sinha has got the big responsibility of connecting and keeping Chhattisgarh healthy. His social life dedicated to public service and his long experience of organizational responsibilities will benefit the people of the state along with the Yoga Aayog. The journey of the Yoga Aayog established in 2017 has been great so far and under the leadership of Shri Sinha, it will set new records.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that yoga in India is the gift of sages and they are also the carriers of this beautiful tradition. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice and it means to join or unite, which is a symbol of union of body and consciousness. He said that it was due to the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that this consciousness in the form of yoga spread across the world and the United Nations recognized 21 June as International Yoga Day. Shri Sai said that yoga is prevalent in various forms across the world and its popularity is continuously increasing. On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to everyone and said that we should include yoga in our daily routine for a healthy body and mind and explain its importance to the future generation by connecting them with yoga.
While addressing the program, the newly appointed Chairman of Yoga Aayog, Shri Rupnarayan Sinha said that yoga is for everyone and works to connect everyone. While working in the organization, I have always worked to connect people and today I have been given the big responsibility of connecting everyone through the Yoga Aayog. Shri Sinha said that there are many important resources available in nature, but the best among them is human resource. The Chief Minister has entrusted me with the responsibility of keeping the human resource healthy and to achieve this, our goal is to spread yoga to the people. Our Prime Minister regularly practices yoga. Today the whole world is aware of his energy and efficiency. Shri Sinha shared his views on the worldwide popularity and relevance of yoga.
On this occasion, Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Revenue Minister Mr. Tankaram Verma, former Governor Mr. Ramesh Bais, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, MLA Mr. Motilal Sahu, MLA Mr. Sampat Agarwal, MLA Mr. Anuj Sharma, Dr. Rampratap Singh, Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Mahamandaleshwar Mr. Hariharanand Maharaj, revered Saint Udaynath Ji Maharaj, Mr. Vasu Devanand Ji Maharaj, Secretary of Social Welfare Department Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Director of Social Welfare Mrs. Roktima Yadav along with revered saints, yoga acharyas and eminent citizens were present.
